Cincinnati Reds 1B Joey Votto makes TikTok with young fan at Chase Field

It's not every day that a youngster gets to make a dance video with a big leaguer while he's working at the office.

A Major League Baseball game at a big-league ballpark is every little kid’s dream for those who love America’s Pastime.

And when bigger-than-life players such as Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto can make it personal for a youngster, that’s when dreams come true.

That’s exactly what happened on Monday night at Chase Field when a young fan’s sign read, “Joey Votto will you make a TikTok with me?”

For those who may not be up to speed on the latest dancing trends, the duo is performing what the kids these days are calling “The Griddy.”

Here’s what the finished product looked like:

You can be the judge of who did it best, but it’s not every day that a kid gets to make a dance video with a big leaguer at the office.

The pregame festivities didn’t bode well for the Reds first baseman, as Votto was 0-for-3 with a walk on the night.

However, it was Votto who got the last laugh over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday, with the D-backs dropping the series opener, 5-4.

The Diamondbacks look to get back on track in the second of the three-game series on Tuesday at 6:40 p.m. on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.

Arizona RHP Zach Davies (2-3, 4.21 ERA) is scheduled to start against Cincinnati RHP Tyler Mahle (2-5, 5.07 ERA).
