Arizona Rattlers No. 2 in latest vPower Rankings

What do two championships in a row followed by nine straight wins to start a season get you? Second place in the Arena Football League’s vPower Rankings, apparently.

That’s where the Arizona Rattlers find themselves after their 70-38 rout Sunday of the Spokane Shock (5-4), which improved the two-time defending champs’ record to 9-0, a franchise-best start to a season.

The top spot in the vPower Rankings — which are tabulated on AFLFieldPass.com — remains unchanged this week, being held by the Cleveland Gladiators (8-0). Cleveland, too, is off to its franchise-best start.

Other than the two undefeated teams at the top, the next best record in the AFL is a three-way tie at 6-3 between the San Jose SaberCats, Pittsburgh Power and Orlando Predators — who place third, fourth and fifth in the power rankings, respectively.

Arizona next faces the LA KISS (2-7) for the first time in franchise history on Sunday, May 25, at 5:00 p.m. The Rattlers are at the halfway point in their season, with nine regular season contests left to play.

Below are the top 10 teams in the latest power rankings.
