2026 MLB Draft: Where do Arizona high school, college products project?

There are plenty of 2026 MLB Draft hopefuls with Arizona ties, the group headlined by ASU LHP Cole Carlon and Hamilton product Roch Cholowsky.

A host of Arizona products from the high school and college levels are among 2026 MLB Draft hopefuls.

From Arizona State left-handed pitcher Cole Carlon to former Chandler Hamilton High School shortstop Roch Cholowsky (UCLA), their dreams could be realized when the draft gets underway in Philadelphia from July 11-12.

Those invited to the MLB Draft Combine hosted at Chase Field in Phoenix have the chance to show off their stuff to scouts from Tuesday through Friday.

2026 MLB Draft hopefuls with Arizona ties

ASU Sun Devils

  • LHP Cole Carlon (No. 15) – The two-time All-Big 12 First Teamer (2025-26) was mocked by ESPN’s Kiley McDaniel (June 18) to go 20th overall to the Boston Red Sox. A Tempe native and Corona Del Sol High School product, the 6-foot-5 right-hander pieced together a 3.87 ERA across 16 starts in what was the junior’s first season as a primary starter. He averaged 14.3 strikeouts per nine innings.
  • SS P.J. Moutzouridis (293) – The Cal transfer (2024-25) led ASU last season in triples (four) and slashed .286/.410/.417 across 55 games. His 49 runs scored were tied for third most among Sun Devils.
  • OF Dean Toigo (320) – The fifth-year player closed his collegiate career at ASU after stints with UNLV, NAIA Hope International and Cypress Community College. He earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention following starting all 60 of ASU’s games and slashing .321/.422/.650. His 64 runs scored were second only to teammate Landon Hairston (82), the 2026 Big 12 Player of the Year.
  • INF Nu’u Contrades (344) – The four-year Sun Devil earned a place on the All-Big 12 First Team after having a career offensive season in 2026, with bests in batting average (.366), hits (74), home runs (21), on-base percentage (.434) and OPS (1.197), among others. His strikeout rate as a senior was 13.8%.
  • RHP Alex Overbay (380) – The UNLV transfer (2024-25) made 16 relief appearances and four starts for ASU to the tune of a 5.79 ERA. He gave up seven home runs across three collegiate seasons and 73 innings pitched and notched seven saves in 2025 as the Rebels’ main closer.
  • OF/3B Dominic Longo (384) – In his lone season at ASU after transferring from Utah Valley, the junior slashed .246/.348/.482. The former Second Team All-WAC selection only committed one error on 67 total chances as a Sun Devil.

Arizona Wildcats

  • RHP Owen Kramkowski (111) – The local product out of Sahuarita’s Walden Grove High School made 14 starts in the 2026 season, managing a 6.13 ERA in 72 innings pitched. He struck out a career-high 12 batters on March 6 against Fresno State and started against Coastal Carolina in Arizona’s 2025 College World Series opener (five innings pitched, three runs allowed, seven strikeouts).

High School

  • Hamilton:
    • SS Roch Cholowsky (UCLA, 1) – The two-time 6A champion Husky (2022-23) is a finalist for the 2026 Golden Spikes Award, with the winner to be announced on June 29. He slashed .320/.452/.636 with a team-best 21 home runs after being named Big Ten Player of the Year for the second straight season.
    • INF Ryan Kucherak (Northwestern, 245) – The infielder as a junior was named to the All-Big Ten Third Team after finishing second in RBIs (39), doubles (13) and batting average (.295) among his Wildcats teammates last season
    • RHP Rohan Lettow (San Diego, 355) – The former Sun Devil (2024-25) recorded a 3.79 ERA in 15 starts (16 appearances) in his first season with the Aztecs. His six wins in 78.1 innings pitched were tied for the most at SDSU (Issac Araiza, 6-2).
  • Saguaro:
    • C Alain Gomez-Gudino (2026 South Carolina commit, 182)
  • Casteel:
    • INF Ryne Barker (2026 Texas Tech commit, 205)
    • OF Ryan Harwood (2026 Texas A&M commit, 268)
  • Queen Creek:
    • SS Jet Berry (2026 Arizona State commit, 195)
    • SS Jordan Ransom (2026 Arizona State commit, 298)
  • Sunrise Mountain:
    • OF Easton Talt (Oregon State, 340) – The 2022 Sunrise Mountain graduate is the No. 15 overall prospect in Arizona and was named to the Eugene Regional All-Tournament Team this season as a senior. He slashed .260/.396/.404 over four seasons for the Beavers.
