A closer look: D-backs fail to sweep Cubs in series finale

The Good:

Josh Collmenter pitched five innings and only allowed one run to score, culminating an overall good year for him, as he has a 2.13 ERA since May fifth.

Justin Upton set a career high with his 106 runs scored this season so far. He is tied with Luis Gonzalez for he fifth most in club history in one season.

The D-backs won the season series vs the Cubs for the first time since 2009.

The Bad:

The Diamondbacks allowed six runs in the final four innings of the game, and only two of them were earned, as the defense was extremely sloppy all game.

The Snakes hit just 1/6 with runners in scoring position in the game, with Cody Ransom accounting for the only hit.

The game was the first time Arizona committed three errors since the August 17th game in Philadelphia.

Aaron Hill passed Eric Byrnes and now has sole ownership of fifth place on the D-backs all-time, single-season hit list.
