The Arizona Diamondbacks’ road game against the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday has been postponed due to inclement weather, the Cardinals announced.

The game was scheduled to start at 4:45 p.m. MST, but the forecast provided doubt that baseball would be played.

The game was initially delayed approximately a half-hour before first pitch with no announced start time.

Arizona and St. Louis will make up the game on July 23, which was a mutual off day. First pitch will be at 2:15 p.m. MST.

There was evidently some frustration on the Diamondbacks’ side for not moving Thursday’s start time to beat the rain:

The Diamondbacks will visit the Washington Nationals, Pittsburgh Pirates and Cleveland Guardians from July 24 to Aug. 2, and this rescheduled game will add a fourth stop on the road trip.

The D-backs won two of the first three games in this four-game series, earning a 9-4 victory on Wednesday. Zac Gallen was slated to start on Thursday, matched up against Cardinals right-hander Michael McGreevy.

The Diamondbacks are set to travel to Tampa Bay for a weekend series against the Rays after leaving Busch Stadium on Thursday night.

Does this mean that Zac will skip his turn? You know, for extra rest.

Do you think the Cardinals did this to give them an advantage down the road if for some reason the Dbacks are challenging for a wild card spot? Just saying.
