The Arizona Diamondbacks reinstated pitcher Anthony DeSclafani from the 15-day injured list ahead of Sunday’s game against the Boston Red Sox.
Righty reliever Bryce Jarvis was optioned to Triple-A Reno following last night’s game.
After signing with the Diamondbacks in June, DeSclafani pitched in 11 games largely as a long reliever before being placed on the injured list with right thumb inflammation in August. He has started four games, posting a 1-2 record with a 4.36 ERA, 31 strikeouts and two saves.
He last pitched for the D-backs against the Texas Rangers on Aug. 12.
Jarvis has been in and out of the majors for the D-backs this season, making 11 appearances and posting a 6.10 ERA with 20 strikeouts. Jarvis last pitched on Friday where he struggled, surrendering four earned runs on three hits and walking a batter.
Diamondbacks’ next game
After clinching a series win on Saturday, the D-backs will look to complete a sweep and extend its winning streak to five games against the Red Sox on Sunday at Chase Field.
Ryne Nelson will take the mound for Arizona, while Bryan Bello will start for Boston. First pitch is at 1:10 p.m.
Catch the game on ESPN 620 AM and the Arizona Sports app.

Yeah, not too impressed with Jarvis' performance in his multiple call-ups from Reno.
Jarvis’ career should be loaded onto a rocket and shot into the sun. He’s useless. Get rid of him.
I'm liking Crismatt I hope they don't yank him from the rotation....
