The Arizona Diamondbacks and San Francisco Giants have a Saturday doubleheader scheduled next month.
The first game of the Aug. 29 doubleheader in San Francisco is slated for 1:05 p.m. MST. Game 2 is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
Why do the Diamondbacks and Giants have an August doubleheader?
The switch-up in schedule comes after the Giants’ previously postponed game on June 18 against the Atlanta Braves was rescheduled for Aug. 31.
Instead of Arizona and San Francisco playing their series finale on Sunday, the two sides now get that as an off day. The Giants then travel to Atlanta, while the Diamondbacks head home for a three-game series against the Philadelphia Phillies.
The Diamondbacks (39-39) currently sit third in the NL West and are 7.5 games ahead of the Giants (31-46) in fourth. Arizona is 6-0 against San Francisco through two series played.

I think you know the answer to your last question. AZ Sports doesn't splurge on things like editors or even proofreaders. It's just talk radio by the lesser talents, written down for a website. Dave Burns would never let a mistake like that sit uncorrected.
I knew the answer.
Even when readers point out errors like it was a 4-run deficit or the game was an away game not a home game or when a reporter wrote that Eduardo Vargas (who is a Chilean soccer player) is the Dbacks first basemen or etc, etc., they don't correct the error. I doubt that they even read the comments to see the feedback and etc.
Also, it is a bad reflection on ASU since most of these reporters are ASU alumni. It is embarrassing when a reporter doesn't know basic math (5-1 = 4) or the calendar and months of the year or the name of a player.
Shouldn't the focus be on the Dbacks drive to secure one of the three wild card playoff positions which they are currently # 8 in that chase instead of bragging that we are 7.5 games ahead of the Giants who currently has no chance to compete for a wild card playoff spot?
Finishing 3rd in the NL West has no rewards unless the Padres and the Dbacks have the records to be two of the wild card playoff teams.
