With four days remaining in MLB All-Star voting, among their positions, Paul Goldschmidt sits third while Jake Lamb and Chris Owings are fifth.
Goldschmidt comes away from the final balloting update with 1.2 million votes, behind Anthony Rizzo’s 1.6 million votes and Ryan Zimmerman’s 1.73 million votes.
The four-time All-Star is on pace to set career highs in home runs, RBI, runs and average. His 18 home runs put him fourth among NL first basemen, his 65 RBI rank first and .332 average puts him third.
Lamb’s 726,560 votes place him far behind the top vote-getter for NL third baseman, Kris Bryant, who has racked up 1,978,692 votes.
In his fourth MLB season, Lamb leads NL third baseman with 17 home runs and 62 RBI, but sits tenth with a .280 average.
With 676,666 votes, Owings trails Trea Turner, Addison Russell, Corey Seager and Zack Cozart for the starting spot among NL shortstops.
Owings is having the best season of his five-year career, but as it relates to the All-Star Game, he doesn’t have the best luck given the depth of talent at shortstop.
He leads the position with 43 RBI, while ranking second in hits (76) and third in average (.289) and home runs (9).
Voting for the All-Star Game ends on Thursday and the rosters will be announced on ESPN Sunday at 7:00 pm ET.

Just took a quick look in fantasy scoring, I know, but still interesting. Arenado and Lamb tied, Bryant about 25 points behind. So again, just have him in the conversation. The nod would certainly go to Arenado for his defense.
I don't disagree, especially as both are "known" names, but Jake is right there and should be on the screen.
The fans selection determines the starters for each position, the players, managers and coaches select the backup roles, starting pitchers and relievers and also have to include at least one person from every team. Then the managers select the 5 people for the final vote.
This is how you get a guy like Rizzo starting ahead of Goldy even with Goldy having almost double the production of Rizzo. It needs to be changed so that the starters are selected by the players, coaches and managers based on production that year. What ends up happening is a small market team will have one stud like Goldy but Lamb gets left out of the players, managers and coaches votes, will most likely be on the final 5 like he was last year and again turns into a popularity contest. As of right now Bryant(leading in votes) will start at 3rd base batting .259 with 16 HR and 31 RBI and Lamb(currently in 5th place) won't make the cut but is batting .280 with 17 HR and 62 RBI. The reason why is Nolan Arenado will be selected as the alternative batting .292 with 15HR and 59 RBI and is in second place.
It might not seem like much but this will be the 2rd year in a row that Lamb will be left out of the All-star game and they will bring up how many All-star games each player made when they played especially for the HOF etc.
