How to watch Diamondbacks-Braves on Saturday night

The Arizona Diamondbacks’ middle game of their weekend series against the Atlanta Braves will be televised exclusively on FOX Saturday night, as part of FOX’s Baseball Night in America.

First pitch is scheduled for 4:15 p.m. MST and can be listened to on the Arizona Sports app or online.

Those without access to FOX can sign up to stream the game online.

It will be Arizona’s fourth appearance on Baseball Night in America this season and its fifth appearance on Fox networks (the outlier was July 6 at San Diego on FS1). The D-backs have one more Baseball Night in America game slated for Sept. 5 at Houston.

The Diamondbacks are 2-1 when featured on the Saturday night program, including a 2-1 win over the Braves in April.

That April win came during the third series of the season on the back of Michael Soroka’s second win with the team and four shutout innings from the bullpen. The D-backs hung two unearned runs on Braves starter Bryce Elder (thanks to an Elder throwing error).

Soroka and Elder are scheduled to face off again in Sunday’s series finale.

Eduardo Rodriguez will take the mound Saturday for Arizona, carrying a 2.70 ERA, and Grant Holmes will take the hill for Atlanta, holding a 3.47 ERA. Holmes has thrown 12 consecutive scoreless innings entering Saturday, and Rodriguez threw seven innings of two-run ball last time out.

Rodriguez and Holmes faced each other during that early April series as well. Both starters turned in shutout outings, with Rodriguez delivering seven innings and Holmes completing six innings. However, the D-backs fell in the April 3 game 2-0 as Ozzie Albies and Matt Olson hit back-to-back jacks in the ninth inning off Paul Sewald.

The D-backs can pick up a series win with a victory Saturday after pitching a shutout Friday night behind Brandon Pfaadt’s seven scoreless innings.
