Diamondbacks pounce on Rockies early, Ketel Marte not appearing to slow down
Ketel Marte and the Diamondbacks continued their offensive rampage against the Colorado Rockies in Denver, sprinting out to a 7-0 lead on Thursday night.

Ketel Marte and the Arizona Diamondbacks continued their offensive rampage against the Colorado Rockies in Denver, sprinting out to a 7-0 lead on Thursday night.
Marte’s double off the right field wall brought home two runs for the sizeable advantage, and the two RBIs saw him reach eight in his previous three games.
The extra-base hit also marked the end of the line for Rockies right-hander Bradley Blalock with two outs recorded in the fourth inning.

Shortstop Geraldo Perdomo got the run parade started with a 10-pitch walk against Blalock, and left fielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. cleared the bases of Perdomo and Corbin Carroll (walk) with a three-run home run.
Backup catcher Jose Herrera managed just his second homer of the season on the first pitch he saw from Blalock in the second inning. The 92.6-mph hit barely cleared the right field wall and got center fielder Alek Thomas (single) home. Thomas singled a second time in the fourth after only going 1-for-9 in his two most recent games against Colorado at Chase Field.
Perdomo extended his hitting streak to 11 with a single in the fourth, one that nearly tagged Blalock on the mound. Entering Thursday’s game, Perdomo was hitting .410 and had six extra-base knocks during his streak.
As for Arizona’s starting pitcher, lefty Eduardo Rodriguez produced a lot of swing-and-miss in his outing, with five strikeouts via whiffs and a majority of those being offerings above the zone.
Though Rodriguez dropped his number of free passes (five) significantly from his last start against the same club with one through five frames, the southpaw was bitten by the long ball once again — his 20th allowed of the year — as Rockies first baseman Kyle Farmer hit a solo home run in the fifth to end Rodriguez’s bid at a scoreless outing.

B Fan, stop saying false things. So no, you are not being very accurate in what you are saying.
We have not blown 37 saves. I told you this. We have blown 22. I think you are referring to leads lost by the BP.
The org held off on selling until we were under 7% odds of making the playoffs. Even now, we are at 2%. You are acting as if beating the Rockies and a struggling Rangers that the dbacks are now leading the league (though i too am hoping come Sunday, we are only a few games out of the WC to make the last month exciting).
The only thing you got right above is the trade of miller. Salary dumps are always disgusting. But again, you are saying Hazen neglected the BP but then complaining about the main guy who hazen brought in this offseason (and was great, along with beeks).
I ask you again, who would you have brought in and who from the opening day roster (and when healthy) would you have DFA or dropped to the minors?
How can you say hazen has negelected pitching? He traded for erod, signed montgomery and signed Burns. Huge investments. 1 was a bust, 1 is under performing and 1 got injured after pitching great. Then, for the BP, he traded for puk, traded for Seawald, found Thompson (who was very good for 2 years), developed/extended JMAR, brought in beeks and Miller. And now, post deadline, got 8 new pitchers, 8! And would you look at that, he used the margin in our offense to shore up late inning pitching. Not to mention the draft!
They way you are describing the season and moves, very inaccurate.
I suggested a month ago that the DBacks should flip Perdomo & Carroll in the batting order and Lovullo finally pulled the trigger.
Perdomo's OBP of .388 dwarfs that of Carroll's .321......while Corbin's slugging pct of .550 is 2nd to Ketel Marte's .558
The Dbacks should win these games against a sub -.500 team. Nothing new here.
