There are a lot of reasons pitcher Madison Bumgarner chose to sign with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
He’s found another with the Barrett-Jackson auto auction.
Bumgarner is selling his 2018 Ford Shelby GT350 custom coupe at the Scottsdale auction that will take place next week.
The beautiful black vehicle has a 5.2-liter V8 engine with a six-speed manual transition.
It’s one thing to own something autographed by an MLB player. How about a real car, custom-made for the three-time champion?
The description on the Barrett-Jackson site includes:
- “Power is sourced from a 5.2-liter V8 Voodoo engine packing a Whipple supercharger sending power to the rear tires via a 6-speed manual transmission.”
- “The gearbox has been outfitted with a McLeod 1500 clutch and an aluminum flywheel to handle the additional power.”
- “Finished in Satin Black with gloss and features a carbon-fiber roof, custom front and rear bumpers, as well as a bespoke carbon-fiber rear diffuser.”
- “It rides on HRE 300 Classic Series wheels, 20×10” in the front and 21×13” in the rear.”
The Shelby has fewer than 450 actual miles on it.
Maybe Bumgarner doesn’t need such a luxurious ride now that he’s home with his horses.
Or maybe with his new five-year, $85-million contract with the Diamondbacks, he’s looking to find a different custom-made model.
The Shelby is Lot #1438 at Barrett-Jackson.
The car’s description page on the site does not specify the day it will be auctioned, but the same lot number last year was sold on a Saturday.
