The Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday named outfielder Ryan Waldschmidt their 2025 Minor League Player of the Year and gave right-hander Daniel Eagen the organization’s 2025 Pitcher of the Year honor.

With former top prospect Jordan Lawlar now out of consideration, Waldschmidt is the No. 1 player on MLB Pipeline’s top prospects list for the D-backs.

The 22-year-old earned a midseason promotion from High-A Hillsboro to Double-A Amarillo and posted even better batting numbers after the elevation.

Waldschmidt slashed .309/.423/.921 over 66 games with Amarillo, piling up 57 runs, 77 hits 35 RBIs and 45 walks with 53 strikeouts there.

For the year, he was second across the minors in total walks (96 in High-A and Double-A) and third in combined runs scored (114). His season included a 25-game on-base streak during August.

Eagen, the team’s No. 13 prospect, according to MLB Pipeline, was a third-round draft pick by Arizona in 2024.

He went 7-5 with a 2.49 ERA and 1.06 WHIP with Hillsboro before a promotion to Amarillo, where he posted a 5.49 ERA and 1.37 WHIP.

Opponents hit a combined .189 against him over 117.1 innings in the minors this season.

He had four games with 10 or more strikeouts in 23 starts.
