OK. The first base problem is solved. Tim Tawa will be playing first base tonight. Will win tonight for sure.

Why Abner? He has a 9.95 ERA in the majors this season. At Reno, he has a 4.76 ERA which translates to a minimum of 6.50 ERA in the majors. Is TL expecting the Dbacks to get blown away by the Padres and/or Dodgers and they need a pitcher like Abner for the garbage innings in order to give the other teams a 'football' score of 23-3?

I am sorry but these two moves of Abner and Tawa are signs of a loser...not a team that is trying to win

Tim Tawa is batting .159

Pavin Smith is batting .141

That .018 difference is going to make the Dbacks into an offensive juggernaut! (sarcasm)

It is hard for me to believe that they can't find a 1B in their farm system and/or to trade for a 1B that is a MLB second stringer 1B/utility infielder or AAA player.
