Diamondbacks have gone a week without a home run

The Arizona Diamondbacks have not hit a home run in a week.

The club has played six straight games without leaving the yard, not since Jordan Lawlar homered on April 2 and has not played since. It is the longest active streak in the major leagues.

And yet, the Diamondbacks are 4-2 over this bizarre stretch (so far). They scored seven runs in each of the past two games — cold-weather wins over the New York Mets — to get over .500 at 7-6.

Arizona had gone through two six-game streaks with no home runs in the past decade before this season (May 2024 and June 2021), and the team went a combined 2-10.

There were 37 streaks of at least six games and no home runs from teams in MLB over the previous four years, and none finished with a record above .500, according to Stathead.

That’s not to say the Arizona offense is humming without home runs. Just look at the lineup card.

Most of the position players are batting .200 or worse, including core members Ketel Marte and Geraldo Perdomo.

This week has a lot to do with the starting pitching, which was fantastic throughout the Mets series and even for the most part against Atlanta, bookended by Eduardo Rodriguez gems.

The bullpen has also stepped up (2.05 ERA in last 22 innings) in the absence of a dominant offense. Arizona’s team ERA over the past week is 1.95, the best in MLB.

At the plate, the scoring has been streaky, but the last two games provided some key rallies. Arizona scored four runs in the second inning on Wednesday and tacked on insurance runs late to avoid needing a save. The offense was stymied by Mets starter Nolan McLean for six innings on Thursday, but the D-backs scored seven runs over the next two innings to run away with the game.

Arizona is amazingly 11th in the league in slugging despite ranking 26th in home runs with eight (17 at this time last year).

No one on the roster has hit more than two home runs (Carroll and Jose Fernandez), one of five teams without a three-home run hitter. The D-backs were top eight in home runs in 2024 and 2025, but the roster is configured differently this year. Home runs are also down league wide from this date a year ago (389-342).

The difference is made up with doubles and triples, where Arizona is second (28) and first (five), respectively. The D-backs have 13 doubles and four triples in the past four games.

Gabriel Moreno has not gone yard but leads the team with five doubles, and Corbin Carroll has hit three triples.
