The Arizona Diamondbacks remain in the thick of the NL Wild Card hunt for the fourth straight season.
Reaching the postseason came down to the final week in the past three seasons. While a World Series appearance followed in 2023, the D-backs hope to break a 2-year-old trend of falling short in the standings this year.
The D-backs have dealt with star second baseman Ketel Marte no-showing his team in the heart of the playoff chase — he will have missed at least 13 games after an IL stint if he returns on time — not to mention plenty of injuries to starting pitchers both before and after the All-Star break.
The Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia Phillies, San Diego Padres, Miami Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals are all fighting with the Diamondbacks in the standings to each grab one of three available Wild Card spots.
Here’s the latest on the race to make the playoffs.
