Grayson Allen out vs. Pelicans, continues to be plagued by knee injury
A knee injury continues to plague Suns guard Grayson Allen, who was ruled out for Friday and the first of back-to-back games against the New Orleans Pelicans.

A right knee injury continues to plague Suns guard Grayson Allen, who was ruled out for Friday’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans.
It is the first of back-to-back games at Smoothie King Center for Phoenix, with the second on Saturday.
Allen will now miss at least three straight games with the injury, the latest due to injury management.
His absence total will climb to 12 in a season which he has averaged 16.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game.
Allen last played Dec. 14 in a loss to the Los Angeles Lakers and registered 13 points, seven assists and three steals.
Jalen Green remains out with a right hamstring strain that has sidelined the offseason acquisition for all but five quarters of basketball this year. Phoenix (16-13) said Tuesday that Green will be reevaluated in two to three weeks for a possible return in January.
Jordan Goodwin was the only other Suns player on Thursday’s injury report, as he will be available while still donning a face mask for a jaw sprain.
Pelicans injury report vs. Suns
New Orleans forward Herbert Jones was ruled out with a right ankle injury. He suffered the injury on Monday against the Dallas Mavericks in the third quarter and didn’t return, which led to Jones missing Tuesday versus the Cleveland Cavaliers.
He leads the Pelicans in steal rate (1.7) and has averaged 9.8 points in 28 minutes per game.
Dejounte Murray remains out with an Achilles injury he suffered in January of last season. ESPN’s Shams Charania reported before the season that he may return soon after New Year’s Day.
Jordan Poole was listed as questionable with left ankle soreness. He missed Tuesday’s game against the Cavaliers with the same injury. Poole has averaged 17 points in his 12 games this season.
New Orleans (8-23) has won five of its last six games.

Ayton isn't a bust. He is in his eight season as an NBA productive starting center. Only 30 of those jobs in the entire world. In a previous discussion it was agreed that Ayton at a minimum is better than fifteen other centers, perhaps as many as twenty.
In a re-draft several different sites had him going at eight, still a lottery pick. I believe you are confused over the term "bust".
Anthony Bennett drafted number one overall in 2013 is a bust.
Hasheem Thabeet drafted 2nd overall in 2009 is a bust.
Many will call Zion Williams a bust.
Lakers defensive rating is 119 but with Ayton it drops to 115. Ayton also hitting 71% of his shots.
NBA season is 82 games. Thirty game sample size means nothing for a player who averages 42 games per season.
Agree 💯. Ayton was not the franchise player he was drafted to be but he is not a bust.
You can make a case if the Suns had just accepted what he was they would have been much better off keeping him than bringing in Nurkic, trading for Richards and bringing in other centers that never provided what Ayton did.
I recall the playoff game against the Clippers where Durant and Booker couldn’t throw it in the ocean. Ayton hit 4-5 jumpers from the FT line area that kept the Suns in it. Suns are still searching for a center that provides a legit offensive game from 15-18 feet and in, something Ayton did provide.
Allen has a bit of the Beal in him.
The victory over the Lakers once again showed the value of Mark Williams. Even with his injury history he's making it impossible for any fans to say they wish Ayton was still a Sun.
