Arizona Sports’ John Gambadoro taking Suns pregame free throw: ‘I don’t get nervous’

Arizona Sports‘ John Gambadoro is taking the pregame free throw Thursday before the Phoenix Suns face the Orlando Magic.

The confident co-host of the Burns & Gambo show, who has been on the Arizona Sports 98.7 airwaves for 20 years, is not worried about whether or not he will make the shot.

“I don’t get nervous in stuff like this,” Gambadoro said. “I’ve thrown out the first pitch at Diamondback games, so I don’t get nervous. So I’m not going to be sitting like, ‘Oh my God am I gonna make the (free throw)?’

“The thing is I’m an Italian kid. I’m 5’10”. We don’t play basketball. Like we play baseball, football, hockey, boxing. We don’t play basketball.”

Gambadoro admitted he does not know when the last time he shot a basketball was, but that it not stopping his lofty aspirations.

“My goal is to hit the rim. I just don’t want to airball it. I think I’m a confident person … so if I was betting, I would bet that I’ll make it.”
