Arizona’s Deandre Ayton lands on SLAM Magazine cover before draft

May 15, 2018, 1:59 PM | Updated: 7:02 pm

Deandre Ayton is no stranger to the magazine aisles of your local grocery store.

Before the center’s Arizona Wildcats were ousted in a shocking NCAA Tournament upset, Ayton was featured by Sports Illustrated standing among an array of past tourney heroes for their March Madness ’18 issue.

Now, the day of the NBA Draft Lottery, Ayton showed up on the cover of SLAM Magazine.

Ayton is one of two players heavily viewed as potential top overall draft picks.

Donning a t-shirt that reads “THE FUTURE,” his image accompanies a quote: “The NBA ain’t ever seen a player like me.”

SLAM’s cover story on Ayton is one of two the magazine released on Tuesday.

Luka Doncic, the 19-year-old Slovenian who plays in the Spanish ACB pro league, is also featured in the issue as a potential No. 1 draft pick.
