Former Suns point guard Chris Paul to retire after 2025-26 NBA season
Former Suns point guard and 11-time All-NBA player Chris Paul will retire following the conclusion of the 2025-26 season, according to ESPN's Shams Charania.

Former Suns point guard and 11-time All-NBA player Chris Paul will retire following the conclusion of the 2025-26 season, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Paul posted a career tribute video to X on Saturday morning with the caption, “Back in NC!!! What a ride…Still so much left…GRATEFUL for this last one!!”

The 12-time NBA All-Star will hang up his professional basketball jersey and shoes after 21 seasons in the league.
Now 40 years old, Paul, aka “CP3” or “the Point God,” signed with the Los Angeles Clippers in July for his second stint with the team after his first from 2011-17, and has played for seven NBA teams, including three seasons with the Phoenix Suns (2020-23).
His lone NBA Finals appearance came in his first season with Phoenix in 2021, a year in which he averaged 16.4 points, 8.9 assists and a career-best 93.4% at the free-throw line.
The point guard is a five-time assists and six-time steals leader in the NBA.
Paul was drafted fourth overall in the 2005 NBA Draft by the then-New Orleans Hornets and has averaged 16.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 9.2 assists in his career as of the date of his announcement.

Pretty impressive career. Made a bad Hornets team relavent for a short time, goes to a Clippers team and makes them relevant despite historically bad culture and owner mess. Had Houston one game away from the finals. One year with a rebuilding OKC team and actually got them into the playoffs. Helps get Phoenix into the finals. I think his teams have won over 62% of thier games in his career. Plus he played 58+ games in every season except 1 in the 20 years before this year, including all 82 games last year in year 20. Heck of a career and easy HOF'er in a few years
