Clippers’ Patrick Beverley suspended 1 game for pushing Suns’ Chris Paul
Clippers guard Patrick Beverley has been suspended for one game without pay for his shove of Suns point guard Chris Paul in Game 6 of the WCF.

Los Angeles Clippers guard Patrick Beverley has been suspended for one game without pay for his shove of Phoenix Suns point guard Chris Paul in Wednesday night’s Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals at Staples Center.
The NBA officially announced the suspension on Saturday.
The incident occurred with 5:49 remaining in the Suns’ 130-103 victory to clinch Phoenix’s first trip to the NBA Finals since 1993.
Beverley was given a technical foul and was ejected.
After Paul hit a three to bring his scoring tally up to 38 (finished with 41 on the night), the Clippers called timeout.
The Point God looked at Beverley on his way to the Suns’ bench and continued walking until the Clippers guard decided to push Paul from behind.

Beverley issued an apology to the Suns point guard the following day via Twitter.
“@CP3 emotions got the best of me last night gang,” Beverley wrote. “My bad wasn’t meant for you. Congrats on making it to the Finals. Best of Luck.”

The shove was the last of the antics that were seen all series long from Beverley, including mocking Paul after taking his legs out on a foul during a three-point attempt in Game 5.
The Clippers guard will miss the first game of the 2021-22 NBA regular season in which he is eligible to play.
The Suns continue to wait to see who their NBA Finals opponent will be, as the Milwaukee Bucks lead the Atlanta Hawks 3-2 in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Game 6 of that series takes place on Saturday night at 5:30 p.m.
If the series ends in six games, Game 1 of the NBA Finals will be on Tuesday in Phoenix.
If the ECF goes seven games, Game 1 of the NBA Finals will be on Thursday in Phoenix.
