Durant and Richards both received technical fouls for their part in the scuffle as Brooks was disqualified for two technical fouls.
With the playoffs fast approaching, it’s worth noting Brooks will be suspended for one game after his next technical, as Sunday’s two brought him to 15 on the season. By rule, players who reach 16 serve a one-game suspension.
Durant appeared to push Brooks off of the tie-up as Brooks continued jawing, smiling as he aimed to get under Phoenix’s collective skin.
Richards came to his teammate’s back to separate the two, and Brooks was then ejected when he continued escalating the situation with a referee. Brooks has made a career of being a pest on the court, including numerous mix-ups with Phoenix in his past.
Phoenix trailed 55-38 at the time of the scuffle, and Houston cemented its control of the game with a 23-11 run over the half’s final five minutes.
The Suns had to have the win, as they entered the night one game out of the final play-in spot with eight games remaining.

Looks like the Suns have accepted their NBA 2024-25 Season Participation trophies and are mailing in the rest of the season. I blame Bradley Beal. If he had gone off for 40 points in the first half, we might only be down by five at the half. Yeah, Bradley Beal is the problem. Just release him and we'll be back to winning 40+ games a year as early as next season. But don't forget to fire a former Coach of the Year who has taken his team to the NBA Finals (or won) for the 4th straight season, Ishbia. Because your roster calls are definitely their collective fault.
