Arizona PG Jaden Bradley lands with Suns in NBA mock draft from ESPN’s Woo

Both of Arizona’s early entrant submissions to the NBA Draft, guard Brayden Burries and forward Koa Peat, will be first-round picks in the eyes of ESPN’s Jeremy Woo.

But it’s Woo’s prediction of Arizona guard Jaden Bradley staying in-state as a second-round pick by the Phoenix Suns that stood out in his mock draft. That comes with the asterisk: Suns point guards Collin Gillespie and Jordan Goodwin enter free agency, but the team has many reasons to re-sign them.

Woo’s projection for Bradley landing with the Suns at the No. 47 comes after Bradley averaged 13.3 points (46.3% shooting), 3.4 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game as a senior.

He was named Big 12 Player of the Year and collected All-Big 12 First-Team and All-Defensive honors as well.

At 6-foot-3, 200 pounds, Bradley is listed as the No. 56 overall prospect on ESPN’s list of best available prospects.

Arizona’s Brayden Burries and Koa Peat go Day 1

Woo projects Burries to make his way into the top 10, landing with the Chicago Bulls at No. 9 overall.

In his lone season in Tucson, Burries averaged 16.1 points (49.1% shooting), 4.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game to earn All-Big 12 First-Team, All-Freshman Team and AP All-American Honorable Mention honors.

The 6-foot-4, 205-pound guard is listed as the No. 10 overall prospect on ESPN’s big board, and Woo forsees his strong play on both sides of the court helping him become another young piece for Chicago to build around.

Burries endeared himself to teams over the course of the season as a steady two-way contributor with room to grow as a scorer. Scouts see a intriguing upside as he continues to improve as an on-ball playmaker, but he is a solid-enough shooter to play the two, giving him appealing versatility. He is older than other freshman guards in the lottery and not as toolsy or flashy, but might be closer to directly impacting winning.

Burries would be a solid fit on the perimeter next to Josh Giddey and Matas Buzelis and a long-term upgrade on Chicago’s current backcourt options.

Further down the board, Woo mocks Peat to the New York Knicks at No. 24 overall.

The Gilbert native averaged 14.1 points (52.8% shooting), 5.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game in 36 games. On top of his All-Big 12 Third-Team and All-Freshman team nods, Peat was named Most Outstanding Player and West All-Region during the Wildcats’ run to the Final Four.

He is also currently listed as the No. 22 overall prospect on the best available list.

Despite concerns about his rawness in outside shooting, Woo expects his 6-foot-8, 235-pound stature and presence across the court to make him a Day 1 selection.

Scouts view his perimeter shooting as a critical swing skill that will impact his career path, as he is not particularly effective shooting outside 15 feet at this stage of his career. But his strength and quickness relative to his size, coupled with a solid offensive feel and ability to guard the perimeter, give him a chance to find a niche in the right situation.

New York would benefit from added size and physicality up front, particularly with Mitchell Robinson headed to free agency. If Peat can develop his jumper, he could be an interesting lineup option here.
