Kevin Durant out vs. Thunder, ineligible for All-NBA teams

Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant will not play against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night due to a left ankle sprain.

His status for the game also makes him ineligible for any of the All-NBA teams, something he was likely trending toward had he played the requisite amount of games (65).

Durant currently sits at 62 games played. With him being out Wednesday night, the most he can still record is 64.

This season, the star forward is averaging 26.6 points on 52.7% shooting and 43% from long range. He’s added 6.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.3 blocks per game.

Durant went down with the injury in his team’s 148-109 loss to the Houston Rockets on March 30 and missed four games since.

In addition to Durant, the Suns will be without center Nick Richards due to right elbow inflammation.

Richards played just over 20 minutes and scored four points, nine rebounds and one block in Tuesday’s loss to Golden State.

As for Oklahoma City, its got a laundry list of players sidelined, including Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (left shin contusion), Isaiah Hartenstein (left Achilles tendinitis) and ASU alum Luguentz Dort (right patellofemoral/injury management).
