Suns to begin NBA Cup group play against Nuggets, finish vs. Mavericks

The Phoenix Suns’ schedule for group play in the Emirates NBA Cup 2026 was revealed on Wednesday, as they are set to play their first game on Oct. 30.
Phoenix will begin against the Denver Nuggets before taking three weeks off NBA Cup action. The Suns will then play their final three games in group play over an eight-day stretch.
The Suns are in West Group A, which will send at least its team with the best record following the four games to the knockout round. One wild card team from each conference with the best record and point differential among the the teams who didn’t win their group will also make it to the knockout round.

The first three knockout stages in NBA Cup history (2023-25) have all been played at Las Vegas. This year will see the event moved to Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, a storied basketball venue that is home to Butler University basketball.
NBA Cup champions received over $500,000 for each player in last year’s iteration, while runner-ups received $200,000.
The teams who do not qualify for the knockout round will get two newly scheduled games added, while the championship game goes into the books as an extra 83rd game that does not count in the regular-season standings. All other games do count in the standings.
The full slate for the NBA’s regular season will come out Thursday.

– Friday, Oct. 30: vs. Denver Nuggets at 7 p.m. MST
– Friday, Nov. 20: at Utah Jazz at 7:30 p.m.
– Wednesday, Nov. 25: at Houston Rockets at 6:30 p.m.
– Friday, Nov. 27: at Dallas Mavericks at 7 p.m.
Phoenix is one of several teams that will not see any of their group play games broadcast on national television.
