Suns’ Devin Booker arrives in Tokyo for Olympic Games

Following the Phoenix Suns’ defeat in the NBA Finals, star guard Devin Booker arrived in Tokyo early Sunday morning local time for the 2020 Olympic Games.

Joining Team USA’s men’s basketball team, Booker will secure his first spot on an Olympic roster.

Making the 9-hour flight from Seattle to Tokyo were a couple familiar foes.

Days removed from beating Booker and the Suns for the NBA title, Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday of the Milwaukee Bucks were also on the flight with Booker.

Team USA’s preparation for the Olympics has been anything short of ordinary.

Uncertainty has been looming over the team’s roster due to injuries and health and safety protocols.

Just last week, Team USA had to replace Bradley Beal (health and safety) and Kevin Love (injury) with Keldon Johnson and Javale McGee.

Now, the trio of NBA Finalists join Team USA less than 24 hours before its Olympic opener against France.

Team USA coach Gregg Popovich said their status for USA’s opener remains unclear.

However, the trio will be available in some capacity.

Their quest for a gold medal begins Sunday at 5:00 a.m.
