Suns center JaVale McGee goes coast-to-coast for the slam

Phoenix Suns backup center JaVale McGee has had a knack for making highlights throughout his 14-year career.

Some have been for the wrong reasons, but there are other times when he does something awe-inspiring in a positive way.

On Saturday, he did just that with a coast-to-coast slam.

In the first half of Saturday’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, McGee went up for a rebound after a Kevin Love missed layup. He tapped it up to himself to get around Cavs rookie Evan Mobley.

Instead of dishing the ball to a guard, McGee took the ball up and built a head of steam. None of Cleveland’s defenders picked him up, perhaps dumbfounded by what they were seeing.

McGee soared in for the one-handed jam past Cavs guard Darius Garland. The crowd and Suns bench went crazy.

McGee was evidently out for blood Saturday night as evidence by his Squid Game-inspired Halloween costume:

McGee scored eight points with seven rebounds for the Suns in 18 minutes.

Phoenix went on to beat the Cavaliers 101-92. Devin Booker led the way for the Suns with 27 points.

The Suns next game is against the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday.
