After returning to the Phoenix Suns starting lineup Thursday against the Houston Rockets, center Deandre Ayton has been ruled out of Saturday night’s game against the Atlanta Hawks with a right leg contusion.
Ayton suffered the injury last Saturday against the Cleveland Cavaliers and was forced to miss Tuesday’s win over the New Orleans Pelicans with the injury.
In Thursday’s 123-111 win over the Rockets, Ayton logged 25 minutes on the court, scoring 16 points and grabbing 11 total rebounds.
With his absence, the Suns will likely rely on fellow big men JaVale McGee and Frank Kaminsky.
The two combined for 35 points on Tuesday when Ayton missed the game with the leg contusion.
For the season, Ayton is currently averaging 14.2 points per game, along with 11.2 rebounds.
The Suns will look to make it four consecutive wins as they host the Hawks Saturday night. You can catch all the action on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.
