Suns get ‘Star Wars’ mashup treatment in fan-made hype video

There’s nothing like a good hype video to get the energy flowing for a big game.

In this case, Sunday for the Phoenix Suns is the franchise’s return to the playoffs against the Los Angeles Lakers.

For that, Suns fan Andrew Leezus mixed the Suns with a trailer for the film “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” ahead of Sunday.

The video goes over Chris Paul’s arrival in Phoenix and has some clever cuts, such as a dialogue line of “there isn’t much time” while LeBron James’ game-deciding 34-foot three-pointer against the Golden State Warriors is shown.

Throw in some highlights and more dialogue addressing the high chances for failure, a nod to the Suns’ status as an underdog, and you’ve got the perfect mashup.

The finishing touch is the logo shown for “Round One: A Phoenix Suns Story,” a cute play on the Rogue One trailer in use.

Plus, you know, Star Wars laser sounds and dramatic music works with just about anything.
