The Phoenix Suns will not have big man Oso Ighodaro on Monday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder due to an oblique strain.
The Thunder will be without Chet Holmgren (right patellar tendinitis), Jalen Williams (left lower leg injury) and Cason Wallace (left shoulder soreness).
All three players started on Sunday in a 108-101 win over the Los Angeles Clippers. Williams was carted off the floor in the fourth quarter after a gruesome fall that left teammates, opponents and fans horrified.
Williams, the Valley native who went to Perry High School, only played 33 games last season due to injuries after he made Third Team All-NBA the year before.
Holmgren was All-NBA Third Team last year, while Wallace was Second Team All-Defense.
The Thunder are off to a 3-0 start with reigning two-time MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander putting up 27.7 points per game.
For the Suns, Ighodaro will miss his second straight game after suffering the injury in the team’s season opener last Wednesday. Head coach Jordan Ott initially called him day-to-day.
Khaman Maluach has been the Suns’ starting center in the first two games, as Ighodaro came off the bench last week. Mark Williams will miss significant time with a shoulder injury.
The Suns went 1-3 against the Thunder last season.
Monday’s game from Oklahoma City is at 5 p.m. MST on 98.7 and the Arizona Sports app.
