Arizona State football going with blackout uniforms vs. No. 13 Utah

Arizona State will be debuting interim head coach Shaun Aguano’s new era of Sun Devil football with blackout uniforms at home against No. 13 Utah.

The annual blackout game at Sun Devil Stadium will feature the Sun Devils in black uniforms with gold accents. That includes gold jersey numbers, name lettering, logos and helmets. The numbers and other parts of the jersey feature a maroon outline to keep with the traditional maroon and gold.

If you focus on the detailing of the jersey, you’ll notice an outline of the Arizona state flag.

Last year’s blackout game was a 34-21 loss to Washington State.

ASU’s police department recommends that if you are going to the game and wearing black, just leave it to your clothes and avoid body paint, with temperatures set to be over 90 degrees at kickoff.

That kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday and can be heard on ESPN 620 AM / 98.7 FM-HD 2.
