After agreeing to a lucrative eight-figure naming-rights deal with Align Technology, Arizona State University announced this week that its new indoor football practice facility will be named the Invisalign Performance Center.

With plans to finish construction in Spring 2028, the facility was originally priced at around $26 million. But once Align stepped in with a naming-rights gift, it was revealed that it would be a $55 million project, according to Phoenix Business Journal.

These naming rights have even sped up construction. Before Align was officially involved, construction wasn’t supposed to start until January 2027, but significant funding has expedited the process.

The facility will be fully air-conditioned and have over 100,000 square feet of turf fields. One field and a half-field will be indoors, and there will be a fan zone outside for tailgating, watch parties and youth events. It will also have space for a new volleyball practice facility.

“The new indoor practice facility will be a fantastic training ground for the team,” ASU president Michael Crow said. “It will also be a great resource as a tailgating site for Sun Devil fans on game days.”

It’s also an extremely convenient location for both players and fans. It will be built in a current parking lot near the north end of Mountain America Stadium by Rio Salado Parkway and Packard Drive, much closer compared to the Verde Dickey Dome, which is more than a quarter mile away from the stadium across Rural Road.

“Every minute in a football day is important,” ASU athletic director Graham Rossini said. “So having the convenience where the facility is going be in Lot 59, adjacent to Mountain America Stadium, is really important.”
