Kentucky quarterback transfer Cutter Boley has become a popular tie to Arizona State since the transfer portal opened on Friday, and he is expected to visit ASU this weekend, according to CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz and Sun Devil Source’s Chris Karpman.
Karpman added that a commitment could follow shortly if the visit goes well.

With Sam Leavitt entering the portal, ASU head coach Kenny Dillingham said last month that he will “100%” be looking for a new quarterback in the portal.
Jeff Sims, who took over when Leavitt underwent season-ending foot surgery, is out of eligibility and will enter the draft, leaving ASU with freshman Cameron Dyer and incoming four-star recruit Jake Fette as options.
Boley has three seasons of eligibility remaining, as he played 11 games for the Wildcats as a redshirt freshman this past year.
The 6-foot-5 quarterback completed 65.8% of his throws for 2,160 yards, 15 touchdowns and 12 interceptions against a difficult SEC schedule.
He threw for 330 yards and five touchdowns in a loss to Tennessee and 258 yards in an overtime loss to Texas.

Boley also ran for 85 yards and two touchdowns.

The Kentucky native was a four-star recruit from Lexington Christian Academy who picked Kentucky over offers from Alabama, Miami and Michigan.
Rivals/On3 predicted Boley would land with Arizona State with 60% confidence.

This would be a good pick-up. He's played against some of the toughest competition in the country in some of the toughest venues.
Tonight On3 is listing Cutter Boley as signing with Arizona State.
I found a 30 minute video of his 2025 highlights on YouTube. Boley is a big boy, who is not afraid, doesn't seem to shy away from contact, but also is enough of a runner to occasionally make defenders miss. He's doesn't have explosive shifty speed. He's fastest when running N-S. He's accurate, has got a gun, a quick release and can definitely spin it - Nice tight spiral, very catchable ball, didn't notice any wobbles or wounded ducks. The ball seems to rocket out of his hand with minimum effort. Video also evidenced significant arm talent, consistently putting the ball right on his targets, completing passes even against DBs who had really good coverage. He has especially good feet, does an excellent job of maintaining his base, and is very accurate when throwing on the move. Didn't see much evidence of him throwing anyone open, but he's still learning.
When I looked deeper into his game-by-game stats from this year, there are a lot of things to like,, namely: (1) Boley definitely got better as the year progressed. He beat Florida with a 159.6 Passer Rating; (2) He was SEC Freshman of the Week for his performance in a win over Tennessee Tech; (3) He took Texas to OT, finally losing 16-13 in OT; and (4) He threw 5 TDs in a 56-34 loss to Tennessee. Boley played his best against the most talented opponents.
His 17-15 stat is not good (should be 2:1 or better) but Kentucky was not good this year either. But as someone else mentioned, if Dilly goes with this guy, I guess we have to trust him. Who ever heard of Sam Leavitt prior to early 2024?
