Cutter Boley, Mikey Keene have separated from pack in ASU quarterback competition, Dillingham says
Dillingham said he wants to let camp fully play out before he can reassess the two-week segment in its entirety. He has previously targeted roughly Aug. 26 as the latest he would name a starter.

TEMPE — Arizona State football coach Kenny Dillingham indicated Monday the quarterback competition is down to a two-horse race between junior Cutter Boley and sixth-year Mikey Keene.
ASU is fresh off the Camp T scrimmage in which the signal-callers split the majority of the drives, going back and forth between working with first- and second-team offenses.
“I think Cutter had a really good scrimmage minus a couple plays. Mikey had a really good scrimmage. I think both those guys have kind of separated themselves,” Dillingham said. “Jake (Fette has) had a really good camp. Cam (Dyer) started out and he’s coming back now, he’s getting back in.
“There was a guy who had a better scrimmage than the other, just from no turnovers and stuff like that, but it’s still a competition.”
Keene threw the only interception on Saturday — one that came in the end zone to freshman cornerback Daquwan Dunn — but he also had the only completed deep ball. The only turnover with Boley came on a bad snap with the backup offensive line.
Boley also scrambled for three first downs Saturday, and Dillingham has highlighted the need for his quarterback to be able to extend plays. Keene had just one such scramble Saturday, but he had another in team periods Monday.
The head coach said he wants to let camp fully play out before classes start Thursday and he can reassess the two-week segment in its entirety. He has previously targeted nine or 10 days ahead of the Sept. 5 opener — roughly Aug. 26 — as the latest he would name a starter.
“Both those guys have had pretty good camps,” Dillingham said. “We looked at it yesterday. Those guys have combined for three interceptions in all team periods all camp. That’s pretty good when you’re talking about taking care of the football.
“And one of those interceptions was a wideout cramping and falling off the field. … So you’re talking two interceptions in a fall camp team period. That’s pretty good.”

Boley is gonna be the starter...no doubt about it...although having Keene as a backup is a luxury.
Can't wait 'till we whip up on the Jayhawks in London.
Man, this is tough. Both are stud QB’s. MK has the experience but CB has the better arm and scrambling ability. Glad I’m not KD having to make that decision. Lol
There was some "insider" on the radio who said Boley will start, as he's the highest paid player on the team . . . So, there you have it.
