Sam Leavitt giving 100% of merchandise royalties back to ASU NIL collective

Arizona State quarterback Sam Leavitt is giving 100% of his royalties from merchandise sales back to ASU football’s name, image and likeness collective.

The Sun Angel Collective, the university’s NIL arm, said in a press release that all of Leavitt’s earned royalties “across platforms and retailers” will be used to directly benefit the football team.

“Sam is not just a special player but also a special person! His willingness to sacrifice for his teammates, both on and off the field, is what makes him truly exceptional and a great role model
for future Sun Devils,” Arizona State coach Kenny Dillingham said in a release on Friday.

Leavitt was named Big 12 Offensive Freshman of the Year on Thursday for helping the Sun Devils to a 10-2 campaign and a right to play for the Big 12 title Saturday against Iowa State.

The quarterback has thrown for 2,444 yards and completed 63% of his passes with 21 touchdowns and five interceptions. He’s rushed for an additional 350 yards on 90 carries with four going for touchdowns.

“Sam’s commitment to his teammates is a powerful reminder of what makes Sun Devil Football special,” said An Angel Collective president Brittani Willett in the release. “We are proud to partner with Sam to ensure his vision has a lasting impact on the program.”
