ASU softball can’t hold onto lead late in loss vs. Texas in Super Regional
Arizona State softball was unable to hold onto a lead late as Texas beat the Sun Devils in Game 2 of the Super Regional to set up an elimination game on Sunday.

Arizona State softball was unable to hold onto a lead late as Texas overcame a two-run deficit to beat the Sun Devils 4-3 in the second game of a best-of-three Super Regional on Saturday.
With the loss, the Sun Devils (45-17) and defending champion Texas (46-11) will play a winner-take-all game Sunday (1:30 p.m. MST on ESPN) with a berth in the Women’s College World Series on the line.
ASU also saw its season-high 10-game winning streak snapped, dating to a sweep in its final regular-season series against BYU.
Leading 2-0 in the top of the fifth inning with a runner on and no outs, ASU turned to ace Kenzie Brown in relief of Meika Lauppe, who tossed four shutout innings. Brown, who struck out 10 batters in the Sun Devils’ 4-1 win Friday, struggled as Texas’ Katie Stewart hit an RBI double and Reese Atwood hit a two-out RBI single to tie the game. Texas had started the game 0 for 7 with runners in scoring position before the fifth inning.
The Sun Devils answered in the bottom of the fifth, as catcher Samantha Swan hit a solo homer off pitcher Citlaly Gutierrez to give ASU a 3-2 lead. It was the Sun Devils’ first homer of the Super Regional and 99th of the season.

Texas responded in the top of the sixth when infielder Victoria Hunter hit a two-out, two-run homer off Brown to give the Longhorns a 4-3 lead — their first lead of the Super Regional — that they did not relinquish.
ASU is seeking its first appearance in the Women’s College World Series since 2018 and its 13th in program history.

I think it's sad the ASU softball has gone on an incredible run through the Big 12 tournament to the regionals and even to the first game of the super regionals and AZ Sports doesn't say "BOO" about it. At least not on the front page. But as soon as they lose one, AZ Sports is all over it. Then the article they finally write has no mention of what time and channel the deciding game is. Sad, so Sad for AZ Sports to treat the team this way. Was the writer even in Austin for the game? Or did he just watch it on TV?
The online Goals of ADOR for Michael Crow only confirms the complete and total demise of Sports at ASU. Such a sad day.
Guess it's time to start following Grand Canyon. Unlike ASU, Crow, the ADOR, Grand Canyon gets it.
You ever gone online and looked at Michael Crow’s goals, which come from the ABoR? I’ll assume you haven’t because if you were familiar with them then you’d know that there is no mention of athletics. Crow is doing exactly what is expected of him by the ABoR.
