Report: Arizona’s Anthony Dell’Orso to play with Kings in Summer League

Former Arizona Wildcats guard Anthony Dell’Orso has agreed to sign with the Sacramento Kings for Summer League as an undrafted free agent, according to ESPN’s Olgun Uluc.

Dell’Orso is the fifth player from Arizona’s 2026 Final Four squad to land an NBA opportunity this cycle, joining draft picks Brayden Burries (No. 10 to the Milwaukee Bucks), Koa Peat (No. 30 to the Phoenix Suns) and Jaden Bradley (No. 50 to the Toronto Raptors), as well as undrafted free agent Tobe Awaka (Chicago Bulls).

Dell’Orso reportedly worked out for the Indiana Pacers, Charlotte Hornets, Washington Wizards and Los Angeles Clippers leading up to the draft.

After transferring from Campbell University, the Melbourne, Australia, native spent his final two collegiate seasons in Tucson providing a vital perimeter spark for the Wildcats. Dell’Orso started 28 of Arizona’s 37 games during his junior campaign before transitioning into a primary bench role as a senior.

Despite the secondary role this past season, he routinely flashed the high-efficiency scoring that defined his collegiate career.

In February, with a depleted Arizona roster missing an injured Peat and an ill Dwayne Aristode, Dell’Orso delivered back-to-back 22-point performances to lift the Wildcats over No. 23 BYU and No. 2 Houston. He later exploded for a season-high 26 points on 71.4% shooting, draining six 3-pointers in a thrilling Big 12 Tournament semifinal victory over Iowa State.

“I think it’s been great. Obviously not an easy thing to accept. Not an easy thing to kind of move on from,” Dell’Orso told Arizona Sports regarding his shifting role.

“Especially (since) this offseason I came back better and stronger… But I kind of took it on the chin, moved on and tried to make the best of it. I think it’s worked out great for me and obviously as well for the team.”

As a junior, the 6-foot-6 guard averaged 7.2 points in 18.2 minutes per game while shooting 45% from the field, 41.3% from deep and 90.2% at the foul line.

Dell’Orso averaged 8.5 points in 21 minutes per game as a senior, while shooting 40.6% from the field, 33.3% from 3 and 83.1% at the foul line.

Prior to arriving in Tucson, Dell’Orso averaged 19.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game for Campbell during the 2023-24 season to earn second-team All-Coastal Athletic Association honors. He was also named the Big South Freshman of the Year in 2023.
