Caleb Holt commits to Arizona as Tommy Lloyd’s highest-ranked recruit

2026 five-star shooting guard Caleb Holt has committed to the Arizona Wildcats.

He announced the news on ESPN’s First Take while he and his family donned Wildcats gear.

“For next year, I’ll be committing to the University of Arizona. I’m going to Tucson,” he said.

The Prolific Prep shooting guard marks the fourth-ranked prospect in the 2026 SC Next 100. No other incoming recruit in Tommy Lloyd’s Arizona tenure has been ranked higher by ESPN than Holt.

He also had offers from Houston, Kentucky, Alabama and Providence, among others, before landing on Arizona.

His career highlights include three gold medals with USA Basketball and MVP honors at the Adidas Eurocamp last summer.

Holt now reunites with Arizona head coach Tommy Lloyd, who coached Holt last summer on the USA Basketball U19 team.

The 6-foot-5 guard is the second 2026 commitment for the Wildcats, joining Goodyear Millenium High School shooting guard Cameron Holmes.

The Wildcats currently sit No. 2 in The Associated Press Top 25 poll as they ready for the Big 12 Tournament before embarking on the NCAA Tournament.

However the rest of the season shakes out, turnover is expected to follow with Koa Peat, Brayden Burries and Motiejus Krivas receiving NBA buzz. All three currently rank within the top 30 of ESPN’s big board for the 2026 NBA Draft. Peat and Burries sit Nos. 16 and 17, respectively, while Krivas is No. 27. Ivan Kharchenkov has also received some NBA attention as a glue guy.

Jaden Bradley, who was named Big 12 Player of the Year on Monday, Tobe Awaka and Anthony Dell’Orso are a trio of seniors.
