4-star wing Cameron Holmes commits to Arizona for 2026

Arizona men’s basketball picked up its first commit of its 2026 freshman class by adding four-star wing Cameron Holmes on Sunday, per On3’s Joe Tipton.

Holmes, a 6-foot-6, 195-pound wing, averaged 11.4 points (67.9% shooting), 3.6 assists and 4.4 rebounds across five games on the EYBL circuit last summer.

Holmes, the No. 29 prospect in the 2026 class, chose Arizona over Dayton and North Carolina. He is the No. 14 small forward and the No. 2 player out of Arizona.

The senior out of Goodyear Millennium becomes the latest Valley prep star to commit to Arizona after class of 2025 forward Koa Peat committed to the Wildcats earlier this year.

What will Cameron Holmes bring to Arizona?

Adam Finkelstein of 247 Sports calls Holmes a versatile two-way player who is solid on both offense and defense.

Offensively, he can attack the rim in straight lines, absorb contact, or bully his way into the mid-post. He’s improved as a shooter and can make open catch-and-shoot threes when he has room and rhythm. While he doesn’t have a ton of wiggle, creation, or tough shot-making, he’s a reliable decision-maker who generally knows how to play and makes quick, simple decisions with the ball (2.3 assists to 1 turnover in EYBL play). Most recently, he’s started to move more without the ball and show flashes of being a good cutter.

Defensively, he has pretty good footspeed, some potential versatility, and a relatively high steal rate (1.5 per game), even if there are moments when he defends with his arms at his side. He’s also a dependable rebounder on the wing (4.2 per game).

Holmes’ older brother is DaRon Holmes II, who played three seasons at Dayton and is now on the Denver Nuggets.
