Suitors for Milan Momcilovic down to Arizona, 2 others

With St. John’s landing Baylor transfer Tounde Yessoufou, the reported suitors for Iowa State’s Milan Momcilovic have been trimmed down to three schools, according to Zags Blog’s Adam Zagoria:

– Arizona
– Kentucky
– Louisville

St. John’s was among the reported teams vying for Momcilovic’s services this offseason, but with the Yessoufou addition, that roster spot (and the NIL money attached) is now filled.

The door to Arizona, meanwhile, opened up that much more with Koa Peat’s decision to keep his name in the 2026 NBA Draft despite his shooting struggles taking center stage during the draft process.

With Peat out of the picture and off the payroll, Arizona could be an even more enticing landing spot for Momcilovic, given starter minutes and NIL possibilities.

“The fourth team right now that is trying to gain some ground, per my sources, is Arizona,” Jeff Goodman said Tuesday on The Field of 68: After Dark podcast. “A big part of that … is because they believe they’re going to lose Koa Peat. Koa Peat leaves, obviously, that clears a lot of cap room for Arizona. I think it also gives them a guy who fits. Talk about an extreme contrast of players.”

Momcilovic is coming off his third season at Iowa State, where he averaged 16.9 points on 50.6% shooting and 48.7% from deep. He led all Division I scorers in three-point percentage while attempting 7.5 per game.

He chipped in 3.1 rebounds and an assist across 30.5 minutes per game (37 starts).

Momcilovic has been a double-digit scorer since joining Iowa State in 2023-24.

Adding Momcilovic to Arizona’s ranks would boost a projected starting lineup that includes point guard Derek Dixon, shooting guard Caleb Holt, small forward Ivan Kharchenkov and center Montiejus Krivas.
