Arizona rolls out Heisman Trophy campaign for QB Noah Fifita at Big 12 Media Days
While Noah Fifita’s biggest resume building for the Heisman comes from his play this year, his impact has already been felt in the program.

The Arizona Wildcats didn’t waste any time getting the Heisman Trophy conversation started for quarterback Noah Fifita.
During head coach Brent Brennan’s press conference at Big 12 Media Days on Wednesday, “Noah Fifita for Heisman” flyers were handed out to reporters throughout the room. They even included references from national analysts and an anonymous Big 12 coach, plus his career stats, traits and accolades.

But while Fifita’s biggest resume building for the Heisman comes from his play in a season he’s yet to begin, what he’s already done for the program has been impactful.
“I think we’re incredibly blessed to have a quarterback like Noah Fifita that definitely has a Heisman resume,” Brennan told reporters. “Noah Fifita is the best story in college football. He’s an incredible football player, but he’s also this rare human being that chooses the right things every day. He’s a man of great faith. He’s a great teammate. He’s a great leader. He’s super engaged in our community. He’s got a nonprofit. He always finds ways to do extra to give.
“I think that’s rare in today’s age. I think so many kids are just taking all the time. I get it. That’s the culture, that’s life. But this young man doesn’t only kick ass on Saturdays, he kicks ass every single day of the week. He is as special as it gets.”
Fifita enters his fifth season with the Wildcats after racking up 3,228 yards and 29 touchdowns to just six interceptions on 64.3% passing last year. He added 216 yards and three scores on 114 carries.
His 29 passing touchdowns set a new single-season program record and helped Fifita become the all-time leader for passing touchdowns in Arizona history with 73.
Fifita picking up where he left off could be huge for Arizona as it looks to keep climbing up the Big 12 ranks following a 9-3 record last year. It was a major step forward from the 4-8 record in 2024, the first season under Brennan.
That’s the expectation for Fifita, especially after receiving a preseason All-Big 12 nod on Monday.
Fifita, however, is focused on team success rather than any individual honors.
“I don’t think this year is about me. We’ve got expectations as a team. We have goals as a team that we believe is possible,” he said Wednesday. “My job is to do whatever I got to do to help our team be able to achieve those accomplishments. I do think we do have the personnel. I think we have the coaches to do something special. Now, it’s just we got to go to work to go do it.”

Not sorry Bear Down but it's not likely to happen. If he finishes as high as Plummer did in 1996, he probably had a very nice season and worthy of consideration but not likely to win.
