Arizona offense racks up big plays in 1st quarter after weather delay in win over Weber State
Arizona quarterback Noah Fifita started 9-for-9 with an 85-yard, first quarter touchdown, leading to a blowout win against Weber State.

The Arizona football game against Weber State was delayed for lightning but the Wildcats wasted no time once the game started to get things going on offense.
Quarterback Noah Fifita was 9-for-9 for 196 yards and three touchdowns in the first quarter alone and threw an 85-yard bomb that traveled almost 50 yards through the air on touchdown pass to receiver Javin Whatley.
When it was all said and done, Arizona moved to 2-0 with a 48-3 win.

Whatley finished the first quarter with three catches for 128 yards and three touchdowns and after the first stanza, the Wildcats were up 24-0.
By halftime, Fifita had four touchdowns and the Wildcats were up 34-0.
By the end of the third quarter, Fifita threw his fifth touchdown pass giving the junior from Huntington Beach 50 touchdowns in his career at Arizona.
Weber State got on the board with a field goal in the fourth quarter to ruin Arizona’s shut out, but it was way too little, way too late.
Fifita would finish 17-of-22 with 373 yards and five touchdowns, Whatley had five catches for 168 yards and the aforementioned two touchdowns.
Arizona had 556 total yards compared to just 184 for Weber State. Arizona also had 31 first downs compared to 11 for Weber State.
Lightning pushes back start time
Kickoff was delayed by more than two hours due to inclement weather in Tucson.
Strong winds, sporadic rain and – most importantly – lightning caused fans to evacuate the stadium and then return before the scheduled 7 p.m. kickoff actually took place at 9:10 p.m.
The Wildcats won their opener 40-6 against Hawaii and look to build momentum before the Big 12 season starts with matchups against Kansas State and Iowa State over the next two weeks.

The rest of Arizona's schedule is about to get real . . . They definitely look better than last season, but the bar is pretty low. They are the only undefeated in team in the state . . . For now.
Now that is how you play a first half against a Big Sky team. Should have put 50 on them, but that's the way it goes.
