ESPN College Gameday analyst Desmond Howard made a surprising first super dog pick to kick off the 2025 college football season on Saturday that involved the Arizona Wildcats’ matchup against Hawaii.
When it was Howard’s turn during College Gameday’s super dog pick segment, he chose Hawaii over Arizona at +17.5. Howard noted that historically Arizona was 5-10 versus the spread against Mountain West teams and 0-2 versus the spread against Hawaii.
Arizona has previously played Hawaii six times in program history, winning five of its six matchups. Both teams last played each other in 2019 with the Rainbow Warriors beating the Wildcats 45-38.
Arizona-Hawaii kicks off at Arizona Stadium in Tucson at 7:30 p.m. MST. The game can be seen on TNT.
