2026 4-star QB Oscar Rios chooses Arizona over UCLA

The Arizona Wildcats landed the commitment from 2026 four-star quarterback Oscar Rios, he announced Friday night.

Rios chose the Wildcats over the UCLA Bruins after taking official visits at both schools. He also received offers from Arizona State, Oklahoma State and Kentucky, among others.

The 6-foot-3, 175-pound quarterback out of Downey High School is the 10th-ranked signal caller nationally and 21st-ranked 2026 recruit in California.

247 Sports recruiting analyst Greg Biggins writes:

Has a whip for an arm and one of the quickest releases in the region. A true dual-threat and can take off and pick up chunks of yards or extend a play and use his arm to make a big throw down the field. Shows off a live, accurate arm and throws one of the prettier deep balls in the class. Decisive with his reads, gets the ball out on time and throws with anticipation. … Highly competitive player, natural leader and draws raves from his coaches for his work ethic and ability to rally his teammates. Lean frame and needs to continue to fill out and add some good weight to handle the shots he’ll take in college but we like where his game is trending and he’s an exciting prospect to track.

Oscar Rios latest Wildcats commitment for 2026

The signal caller marks the first four-star athlete and 15th commitment the Wildcats have received for the 2026 class. Outside of the QB, all of Arizona’s recruits are three-star players.

Before his decision, 247 Sports ranked the Wildcats’ 2026 recruiting class 64th overall and 13th in the Big 12.
