Arizona Cardinals could target Jaguars offensive tackle Walker Little in proposed trade

While major roster overhauls are rarely executed this late in the offseason, the Arizona Cardinals could present a logical landing spot for Jacksonville Jaguars offensive tackle Walker Little under a low-cost framework.

In a proposed trade scenario constructed by ESPN’s Seth Walder, the Cardinals would acquire Little and a 2027 seventh-round draft pick in exchange for a 2027 sixth-round pick.

For Arizona, the appeal lies in maximizing financial flexibility without sacrificing draft capital. While the Cardinals are not projected to contend and need to preserve future assets, the franchise holds ample salary cap space to absorb Little’s contract.

Little’s path in Jacksonville stalled last year after he missed two games due to a concussion. During his absence, Cole Van Lanen stepped into the starting left tackle role and maintained the job upon Little’s return, eventually earning an offseason contract extension.

That sequence turned Little into an expensive reserve. He carries an almost fully guaranteed $11.5 million cap hit for the upcoming season.

Despite posting his best career pass-block win rate in 2025, Little finished in just the 27th percentile among NFL tackles. Because his salary is guaranteed, the cash-strapped Jaguars would likely release him outright if financial relief weren’t a necessity, with Chuma Edoga ready to step in as the swing tackle. Given those dynamics, the trade compensation realistically hovers near zero, per Walder, making a late-round pick swap mutually beneficial.

Should a deal materialize, Little would be asked to switch to the right side in Arizona, Walder says. Even with that positional transition, he projects as a considerable upgrade over current projected starter Elijah Wilkinson. Wilkinson ranked in the 9th percentile in pass-block win rate last season and tied for the seventh-most penalties in the league with 12.

For an Arizona team evaluating veteran Jacoby Brissett and rookie quarterback Carson Beck to map out the franchise’s long-term future under center, establishing stability along the offensive line remains a vital priority. Adding Little offers a low-risk avenue to fortify the trenches.
