GLENDALE, Ariz. – Once again, Robert Nkemdiche is a spectator.
The Arizona Cardinals second-year defensive lineman will not play this week. He’s inactive. Again. So, he will be in street clothes when the Cardinals host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 6 at University of Phoenix Stadium.
Nkemdiche was a limited participant in practice all week as he deals with a calf injury that will now keep him out of a third straight game and has sidelined him for four of six games this season.
Overall, Nkemdiche, the Cardinals’ first-round draft pick in 2016, has missed 15 out of a possible 22 games thus far in his NFL career.
The good news along the Cardinals defensive line is that Corey Peters is good to go despite hurting his knee last week at Philadelphia.
Linebacker Karlos Dansby (hamstring), cornerback Patrick Peterson (quadriceps) and tackle Jared Veldheer (knee) are also playing despite their questionable status on Friday’s final injury report.
The remaining inactives are quarterback Blaine Gabbert, running back D.J. Foster, offensive lineman Daniel Munyer, defensive lineman Olsen Pierre, tight end Ricky Seals-Jones and wide receiver Chad Williams.
Pierre (ankle) had already been ruled out.
For the Buccaneers, linebacker Kwon Alexander, safety Josh Robinson, defensive end Ryan Russell and safety Keith Tandy are out due to injury and among the team’s listed inactives.
The others not in uniform for Tampa Bay are tight end Antony Auclair, center Joe Hawley and tackle Leonard Webster.
The Buccaneers do welcome the return of linebacker Lavonte David and safety T.J. Ward, both of whom had missed the last two games with ankle and hip injuries, respectively.

Like you said in pre-season. A lot of upside. And like I said, "he hasn't shown us anything yet." I think we were both right. Any guy going into his second year that has missed as many games as Nke (stealing that abreviation Dary...just easier) is probably not going to make much of a mark in the NFL. Which is too bad for him, the Cards, and us fans. What a waste of talent.
Team had a stellar 1st half and what is becoming a typical melt down 2nd half. PP is the difference maker. This offensive line got AP his yards and CP his best rating. And Larry...
Great game.
Make millions and avoid concussions! Nke has it down.
Robert Nkimdiche is a little girl, he strained that calf muscle back in August & hasnt played on it forever yet he says it is still bothering him? Unbelievable , they need to cut this guy, the fact he is getting paid millions for nothing sickens me. Look at Corey Peters and Veldheer who jacked their knee's up, their out there playing on them, these young guys need to grow a pair of balls and learn how to play hurt. Young players these days have a paper cut and sit out 2 games because of it, if Nkimdiche isn't out there next week they need to cut him to make a point, its a good thing both Olsen Pierre and Xavier Williams are developing into beasts up front along the D-Line.
