The Arizona Cardinals continue to prepare for the 2025 season with a fresh roster. However, ESPN’s Seth Walder believes the Cardinals can still add a young wide receiver before the season starts.
There have been many eyes on the team’s young receiver duo of Marvin Harrison Jr. and Michael Wilson, and many project the pair to have a breakout year for the Cardinals.
But while those two are commanding much of the attention in training camp, the question remains who will be the WR3.
The Cardinals are still trying to figure out the position a week in advance of preseason starting.
While guys like Zay Jones, Greg Dortch and Xavier Weaver are competing for the spot, Walder thinks Arizona should trade for a receiver from the Green Bay Packers.

Walder wrote on Wednesday that the Cardinals should send a 2026 fourth-round pick in exchange for Dontayvion Wicks.
Even with Christian Watson presumably sidelined for the beginning of the season after tearing his ACL in January, the Packers’ depth chart still boasts Jayden Reed, first-round pick Matthew Golden, Romeo Doubs, rookie third-round pick Savion Williams and Wicks. Thus, they can afford to part with Wicks, a 2023 fifth-round pick who hasn’t put it all together despite showing potential.
Wicks was a backup WR2 on the Packers his first two years. He only gathered 415 yards on 39 catches and five touchdowns in 2024, and he does not yet have a 100-yard game in his career.
In addition, he is recovering from a calf injury with no timetable to return, which could give the Packers another reason to trade him.
Walder adds that Wicks can provide more depth to the Cardinals’ wide receiver room, as he calls it a lackluster group right now.
Arizona is in the opposite situation. After Marvin Harrison Jr., the Cardinals’ wide receiver room features Zay Jones, Michael Wilson and Greg Dortch — a fairly lackluster group. Trey McBride emerged as another top option last season, but another wide receiver could complement (and hopefully help unlock) Harrison, who had a mediocre first season in the league relative to his predraft hopes.

Wow, he almost convinced me that we should send valuable draft capital for another teams trash…. If only he wasn’t injured with no possible return in sight.
Wait, he wants us to send a 4th for a former 5th that's underwhelmed and is injured? That doesn't yet have 1000 receiving yds TOTAL as a pro after 2 years and had 10 drops on 76 targets? I'd barely give a 7th for him, and that would only be if they loved him when scouting him coming out of college.

That dude is a combo Package as a producer and known leader in the locker room.. He had a big hand in helping DC go from 4 wins to 12, and a playoff run to the NFCG..
If I’m Monti, I’m willing to overspend to secure landing Terry.. It’s said a 3rd should get it done.. Though I’d spend more such as with future picks and or a youngster.. Marv, Terry and Wilson.. That’s a complete WR room!
