Cardinals’ Budda Baker leads NFC strong safeties in Pro Bowl voting

Arizona Cardinals veteran defensive back Budda Baker leads all NFC strong safeties in Pro Bowl voting, the NFL revealed on Monday.

Baker is second among all strong safeties, only trailing Baltimore Ravens standout Kyle Hamilton.

The veteran already has six Pro Bowl selections on his resume and has done plenty to put himself in position for a seventh this season. Baker is sixth in the NFL with 114 combined tackles and fifth with 73 solo tackles.

He has played in all 12 games and 98% of available defense snaps. He has added two sacks, three passes defensed and eight tackles for loss.

With another selection, Baker would become the fifth Cardinals player with seven Pro Bowls. Larry Fitzgerald (11), Larry Wilson (8), Patrick Peterson (8) and Roger Wehrli (7) are the other four.

Baker is the sole Cardinals player leading his position group in the NFC, although he has two teammates near the top.

What other Cardinals are seeing Pro Bowl buzz?

Tight end Trey McBride is fourth overall among tight ends and second in the NFC behind San Francisco’s George Kittle. Raiders rookie tight end Brock Bowers and Kansas City’s Travis Kelce are also just ahead of McBride.

McBride is third in the NFL among tight ends with 73 catches — only behind Bowers and Kelce. Only Bowers has picked up more first downs in the position group.

DeeJay Dallas is second among all return specialists. KaVontae Turpin of the Cowboys is first. Dallas scored the first kickoff return for a touchdown this season with the NFL’s newly-adapted rules.

Pro Bowl fan voting launched on Nov. 25 and runs through Dec. 23. The 2025 Pro Bowl Games will be hosted at Camping World Stadium in Orlando on Feb. 2 between the conference championship games and Super Bowl LIX. The event no longer hosts a tackle football game, as players will compete in a skills challenge and flag football game.
