Cardinals general manager Steve Keim addressed comments made throughout the week by Minnesota Vikings cornerback Patrick Peterson, who played for Arizona from 2011-20.

The Vikings beat Arizona last week, 34-26, and Peterson was very open on his frustration with the Cardinals organization following the game.

Peterson said he is still waiting for Keim to call him back after the two sides parted ways during free agency ahead of the 2021 season. He also said he felt disrespected by the Cardinals after there was a critical fan letter left at his locker while he was with Arizona in 2019.

Keim told Arizona Sports’ Wolf & Luke Friday morning he was not aware of such a letter and responded to Peterson’s comments.

“I have nothing but respect for Pat, the athlete and the talent that he possesses,” Keim said. “Obviously during my tenure as general manager, (he was) one of the more talented corners that I’ve seen play in the league. So a lot of respect for him as a player. I have no problems with (his comments).”

Peterson said on his podcast that Keim never returned his phone call ahead of free agency in 2021 and asked why Keim was “hiding.”

The GM did not directly address Peterson’s comments on the two talking.

Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury told reporters Friday he had not seen Peterson’s comments and did not want to respond to anything.

“I enjoyed coaching Patrick, great teammate and great player for us,” Kingsbury said.

Peterson said on the podcast that he did not want to talk about the matter anymore.
