Cardinals’ Jordan Hicks’ helmet-popping hit forces field goal by Steelers

Linebacker Jordan Hicks provided one of the Arizona Cardinals defensive highlights in the first half against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

With the Steelers facing a 3rd-and-3 from the Cardinals’ 12-yard line, Hicks knocked the helmet off of Steelers intended receiver Jaylen Samuels breaking up what would have been a first down completion from Devlin Hodges.

Earlier in the drive, Hicks was docked with a 15-yard unnecessary roughness penalty to extend the Steelers’ drive on third down.

The hit on Samuels saved the Cardinals from giving up a touchdown and forced the Steelers to kick a field goal instead.

After giving up 10 points in the first quarter, Arizona responded with 10 points for their own in the second to even the game. Chris Boswell added a 37-yard field goal as time expired to give the Steelers a three-point halftime lead.
