Cardinals safety Kitan Crawford reportedly suffered mid-ankle sprain, headed to IR

Arizona Cardinals safety Kitan Crawford suffered a mid-ankle sprain and is headed to Injured Reserve/designated to return, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Crawford left the field at SoFi Stadium on a cart after being injured in the fourth quarter against the Los Angeles Chargers.

The 24-year-old in his second season appeared to injure his ankle on the same play Simi Fehoko blocked a punt.

In Sunday’s victory over the Chargers, he played 14 snaps on special teams and seven defensive snaps.

Crawford will have to miss a minimum of four games before he’s eligible to return.

The former Texas and Nevada product was selected by the Cardinals in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL draft. He played in 15 games last season (one start) and is in the second year of his $4.3 million rookie contract.

He tallied 20 total tackles and one pass defensed last season.
